How feasible is starting a high adventure center in the middle of a pandemic?

How feasible is starting a high adventure center in the middle of a pandemic?

The pandemic has thrown a wrench into all of our plans, and made it practically impossible to do all what we want. High adventure places such as High Gravity which is pictured above has done a fantastic job to accommodate to it's customers and allow for a safe place. While High Gravity has a strong customer base and market segment, how well would a new competitor in town do? There are many things that going to feasibility for success but in this blog we will be talking about high adventure, and Covid-19!

The four main ingredients needed to bake that cake of feasibility is: funding, location, management, and your business plan. Now there are more to this than meets the eye but especially in a global pandemic looking at the basics is huge! All these factors have changed because of the pandemic in the ways people spend their money, travel, and what they look for in an adventure center. Funding may be a little harder today than a year ago especially when working with banks and other financial institutions. Interest rates are higher today than a year ago because of the pandemic as well as investors might be hesitant to invest especially in a business that requires so much. Furthermore finding great management might be harder because of the pandemic! Creating a great staff is the key part to have a smooth running business but many times the individuals who can fun a large facility come from all over which said travel is restricted now a days. Having people relocate can be a huge challenge. This also may be a great opportunity to hire at the local level to stimulate your business.

I've heard "its all about location, location, and location" when thinking about purchasing property for living or starting a business. This couldn't be truer especially now. With people cautious of public spaces, having the ideal environment is key to your business. Making sure its not in a crowded place but is still accessible by all is also a concern. Covid-19 is something we will always be cautious with, and social distancing might just be a thing for a long time. So setting up your business we must have that in mind!

Overall Covid-19 has not completely stopped the idea, and ability to create a high adventure park

especially here in the high country but the process of establishing a place like this also may be difficult. There are other factors such as your business plans, permits, certifications, and processes to open may be delayed, but not impossible. Look at the Alpine Coaster located in Banner Elk, NC that opened it's doors in the middle of a pandemic and has done nothing but GREAT business. Maybe we can all create an awesome idea like that, and not let the pandemic stop us .
